The revolution of social media and socialites has changed the modelling industry. No longer is it just about a pretty girl with giraffe legs, a heavy emphasis is now placed on their social standing and presence. The new IT girls including Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner have millions and millions of followers on social media, no doubt helping them surpass the thousands of applicants for Victoria’s Secret 2015.
Whilst the girls have got the goods, I’m thinking there is still going to be alot of pressure on them to prove their place in the prestigious line up.
So with a month notice to work your ass off to be in the best shape you have ever been in, what would you do?
Gigi Hadid’s Pre Victoria’s Secret 2015 Routine: Boxing
It’s no secret Gigi is a fan of boxing. In a recent interview she admitted to this being her number one fitness routine. And why not? It is one of the best full body workouts, not only does it improve strength and cardiorespitory fitness, it can help to improve balance, agility and coordination.
Boxing is also known as an excellent core workout because your hips rotate as you extend the punches, and because you are standing rather than lying down doing sit ups you are burning more calories! Winning.
Kendall Jenner’s Pre Victoria’s Secret 2015 Routine: Circuit Training
I’ve recently started circuit training alot so i’m all the more encouraged that Kendall regards this as her number one exercise regime! One of her trainers Gunnar Peterson in Hollywood says that Kendall uses HIIT and Circuit training to target legs, butt, arms and abs.
Circuit training is great if you have minimal time as it is higher intensity for a shorter period and is usually a mix of cardio and strength training. Think kettle bell swings, hill sprints, planks and burpees. HIIT has been known to increase your metabolism and continue to burn calories even 12 hours after the workout.
It also keeps things interesting because every circuit of exercises is different, there are so many combinations. You are so focused on finishing all the exercises that the hour is up in no time.
Also, if you are in Perth I have been going to Inspire Fitness for my boxing and HIIT fix. Check it out here.
