Let’s cut to the chase. Basically tontouring is the new way to contour your face* with fake tan. So would you do it? And why would you do it as opposed to doing the standard way with makeup.
Well apparently this way you don’t get clumpy layers of thick crusty makeup in order to achieve sky high cheekbones. Makes sense. It also lasts longer so you can literally say, I woke up like this.
I’ve done some research and here are some tips to tontouring. Best get practicing before summer!
1. Reduce the contrast of the tan and your normal skin by applying a light layer of fake tan all over your face a few hours before or even a day before so you have a base to work with.
2. Get a makeup sponge and apply your fake tan as you would to contour your face with your bronzer brush. So, temples, under the cheekbones and under the jawline like a ‘3’ on either side of your face. You can also apply to either side of the nose if you want to take it the extra mile.
3. Make sure you blend the darker tan in so you don’t get straight up tan lines on your face.
4. If you’ve never tried contouring before, baby steps. Start with makeup before you try the more semi permanent tanning option.
